Even as industries continue to switch over from pneumatic tools to high powered battery operated automatic tools, Fromm has brought out a powerful new pneumatic poly strapping combination tool. The Fromm P359 tool is a one-of-a-kind pneumatic tool that can pull an enormous amount of tension and is the strongest in its class.
The P359 has a very sleek look and can be easily mistaken for a battery operated poly strapping tool. However, this combination pneumatic tool is becoming popular among industry experts for its features and its reliable operation. This is also a very cost effective tool. The added fact that it is a sealless tool reduces cost further as metal seals cost more.
Specifications

- Strap Dimensions: 1″ or 1.25″ x .040 – .053” (maybe up to .060″)
- Maximum Tension: 1,570 pounds
- Sealing Type: Friction-weld sealing
- Weight: about 19 pounds
The P359 can use strapping from ¾”- 1 ¼” and pulls close to 1,570 pounds of tension. And since it uses plastic strapping it makes it very cost effective as plastic strapping is available at half the cost of steel strapping. This tool can also be run in either semi-automatic or manual mode. The operator is free to decide which feature will best fit their strapping requirement by pressing the right buttons on the tool.
This tool applies a friction weld seal and it is necessary to give it some time for it to cool. The tool can adjust the sealing and cooling time in order to make sure that the package is secure and sealed perfectly. The tension can also be adjusted based on the application
When compared to battery operated tools, pneumatic tools are considered very heavy, but the P359 disproves that by being very light and weighing just about 19 pounds. Since the tool tensions, seals and cuts all by itself, it saves a lot of operator energy and proves to be more effective. It has also proven to be very cost effective and reliable by not breaking down. It is a long lasting tool and is extremely useful for the packaging industry.
As this is a heavy duty tool it is important that the poly strapping holds up for the applications that it is banding. Poly strapping has higher elongation and is a good shock absorber. It can be tightly packaged for transportation. The added bonus while using poly strapping is that it does not leave scratch marks or rust stains like steel on the packaged goods. There are also no sharp corners and it is very safe for the operator to handle.
If you like Fromm’s tools, but think the P359 is a little heavier than you need, there is Fromm’s P356 which is similar and does the same functions for different strapping sizes.
