All Types of Durable Poly Strapping
Poly Strapping is the perfect option for multiple applications when shipping a wide range of products. It is commonly used along with stretch film for stabilizing load. The strap can also be used for bundling products for retail sales. Polyester strapping is considered perfect for heavier loads and can also be used as an alternative for metal strapping.
Different types of plastic strapping are available for different types of applications:
- Polypropylene Straps – This is the most commonly used strapping for both machine and hand strapping applications. It is available in a wide range of sizes and widths.
- Polyester Straps – Polyester straps work as the perfect substitute for steel strapping. They provide high level of tensile strength without costing as much as their steel counterparts.
- Smooth Plastic Straps – Smooth straps also offer high level of tensile strength. Most poly strapping is available with smooth textures for encouraging higher tensile strength.
- Embossed Strapping – These types of straps feature diamond shaped texture that is formed during extrusion. It provides optimal level of friction against the seal/buckle, which helps in minimizing the chances of slipping.
- Hand Grade Poly Straps – As the name suggests, hand grade poly straps are used in manual applications. It is wrapped around pallet/package by hand and closed using a poly plastic buckle, metal seals or wire buckle.
- Machine Grade Poly Straps – These straps are used for fully automatic, semi-automatic and automated strapping machines. In the case of auto-strapping systems, the machine straps around the product, tensions it tightly and seals using friction/heat weld.
Technical Specs
All types and sizes of poly strapping are available for different applications, including:
The straps are available in different thicknesses including 0.020 inch, 0.025 inch, 0.027 inch, 0.030 inch, 0.035 inch, 0.040 inch, and 0.050 inch.
Applications of Poly Straps
Poly strapping is used for a wide range of applications:
- It is mostly used for unitizing products and for load stabilization.
- Many times the strapping is used in combination with stretch film for securing loads of various heights and sizes.
- It can be used with different types of loads and packages.
Different seal types can be used with this type of strapping, with heat/friction seal and wire buckles being the most commonly used strapping closures.
